A large area within our shop is dedicated to our dry cleaning service; we also operate a collection and drop off service within the local area of Cheltenham.

The Dry Cleaning Process

The Dry cleaning process always starts with a thorough examination of the clothes and checking pockets for boiled sweets and pens that can cause havoc in the machine, we also spot check for any spot marks that would need extra cleaning, the items are also checked for dry cleaning compatibility,

once this process has been done the items are placed into a special machine that applies a water based solvent to the clothes in a machine similar a normal washing machine, before the war the chemical applied to clothes used to be paraffin, but this was considered dangerously flammable so a non flammable detergent was developed,

After the wash process has complete the drying cycle starts and the garments are steamed in a warm air that circulates through the machine and removes all trace of the solvent

After the dying cycle is complete a finishing deodorising and cooling cycle takes place and then the garments are ready to be ironed and pressed,
